NTPHC (Tribal) RAMNAGRI faces staff shortage, patients suffer!
SHOPIAN, JAN 14: The New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) in Block Ramnagri area of Shopian is facing an acute shortage of staff giving a tough time to the patients and the locals visiting the hospital.

Locals in the area revealed that NTPHC RAMNAGRI is functioning without medical officers, senior pharmacists and other staff members fetching hardships for the people.
Moin Ahmed, a local resident said that NTPHC tribal Ramnagri was functioning smoothly over the few years with a dedicated doctor and a bustling OPD. Unfortunately, since the doctor left, no replacement has been stationed here.
Locals refute the official claims of the new doctor being assigned to the hospital for three days.
Until recently, we had a dedicated doctor who served the (70,000 +) people of block Ramnagri and Kanjiuller and surrounding areas with utmost commitment.
Mushtaq ah Shaikh and Mohd Youns Tantray, a local resident, said that due to staff shortages and the absence of a daily on-site doctor ,they are now compelled to visit DH Shopian.
According to an official, Dr. Syid Aabid , General Surgeon, was directed to report at PHC Vehil.
Locals question this order and seek explanation about the situation compelling his transfer amid a staff crisis.
This transfer has severely impacted healthcare access in our region, especially during this harsh winter season. Residents now face significant difficulties and are forced to travel long distances 14 Km from Ramnagri hospital to District Hospital Shopian for even basic medical needs. This situation is causing immense hardship, particularly for the elderly, women, and children who require timely medical attention.

Dr.Mohd Yousf, BMO Shopian acknowledged the shortage of staff and stated that every effort is being made to address the issue which has hit the patient care.“We are ensuring that patient care remains unaffected,” he said.
