Massive Fire Destroys Several Houses in Srinagar SRINAGAR: A massive fire broke out in Central Kashmir’s Kursu Rajbagh on Monday, damaging multiple structures. According to locals, the fire started around 11 AM in a house and quickly spread, engulfing at least six to seven houses. A short circuit is suspected to have caused the fire, which destroyed several houses and a shop in the Shekhpora area.Residents alleged that the fire service arrived nearly an hour late, by which time significant damage had already occurred. “We could have been saved from this extensive damage had the fire service arrived on time,” a local said.
A grieving woman recounted waking up to cries and witnessing houses being consumed by flames. “I have lost everything. How will I get my medicines? Everything has turned to ashes,” she said.Meanwhile, locals joined efforts to douse the fire, and firefighting operations are still underway.
