J&K Agriculture Dept Declares Rallis India’s Pesticide 'CAPTAF' containing CAPTAN 50% WP as Misbranded and Alert Issued for Orchardists. The Agriculture Department of Jammu and Kashmir has identified CAPTAF (containing CAPTAN 50% WP), manufactured by Rallis India Ltd., as misbranded. This determination was made by the Quality Control Laboratory at Lal Mandi, Srinagar, under reference number ACK/P2024-25/3745_47.According to an official statement, the issue was brought to light by the Assistant Directorate of Law Enforcement. The pesticide, widely used by orchardists, has failed to meet the required quality standards, raising concerns about its effectiveness and potential risks.
Authorities have urged farmers and agricultural workers to refrain from using CAPTAF batch no DC/00800.manfacture date 04/11/2024 ,expire date 03/11/2026 and to seek guidance from the Agriculture Department for alternative solutions. Further action is expected to ensure the safety and quality of pesticides available in the market.
