In a bid to promote environmental conservation, and to acquaint future generation with the impacts of environmental degradation, the Pulwama Journalist Association (PJA) collaborated with the Government Middle School Bagh I Sangerwani and the Department of Forest Romshi Range to organize a plantation drive at Bagh I Sangerwani.
The event, held on Monday, saw the participation of PJA members, forest department officials, social activist Riyaz Kohili, students and staff of the Government Middle School, and local residents.
Shah Irshad ul Qadri, President of PJA, and Shabnam Fayaz, highlighted the significance of the drive, emphasizing the need for students to take an active role in protecting the forest for future generations and maintaining environmental balance.
During the drive, dozens of pine saplings were planted, marking a significant step towards environmental conservation in the area. The initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of forest preservation and promote community involvement in environmental protection.
This collaborative effort demonstrates the commitment of the Pulwama Journalist Association, government institutions, and local communities towards environmental sustainability and conservation.
