FMPHW employees protest in Srinagar over seven-month salary delay Srinagar Dec 14, KNT: Scores of Female Multi-Purpose Health Workers (FMPHW) staged a protest at Partap Park Srinagar on Saturday, demanding the immediate release of their salaries, which have been pending for the past seven months. The protesters carried placards and raised slogans, calling for justice and timely disbursal of their dues. “We have been working tirelessly, providing essential healthcare services, but for seven months, we haven’t been paid. How are we supposed to feed our families and educate our children?” questioned one protester. Another proteser told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the Health Minister Sakina Itoo had assured them that their pending salaries would be released soon. “The Health Minister herself gave us hope and even issued an official order to release our salaries,” said Nasreen Akhtar, one of the protestors. “But despite her intervention, the Chief Accounts Officer refuses to honor the order. Why are we being made to suffer because of administrative negligence?”They threatened to hit to roads on daily basis along with their children if their salaries are not released. [KNT]
